The "slut" (to quote Laura Schlessinger), Wendy made a pact with the
[ warning ] strict unrelenting radio "moralist". Who now has free (as in under McCaw) rein to recruit for all wars Bush/Cheney. You know, sacrifice your children, as she wrote in memory of her son, Deryk Schlessinger et al. Schlessinger (read her rules) takes the News-Press crew right on into a Taliban-like look. They view Santa Barbara as predominately liberal. How can a small minority rule the large population? Third world countries make alliances where each player gets a piece of the pie. It's not how you play the game, it's the prize you win or the barracuda you buy.

I didn't go along with the union crowd in the newsroom because I thought they couldn't win this argument. I have real problems with City Hall, too. But instead of going after City Hall with some fact-finding, investigative reporting, they just throw out insults from a bully pulpit with the teaser of "... in future editorials, we will look into blah blah blah." But there is never any meaningful follow up.

And why? Because there are no reporters left at the paper with any experience beyond journalism school except for the Lompoc reporter and a few sports writers. Wendy is spending her money on attorneys and hiring her new pimply faced reporters through a temp agency. That is a fact. Those reporters don't even know where City Hall is located (and it's right next door).

Does this News-Press really, seriously appeal to you? A News-Press that doesn't even cover government meetings anymore? we are missing SO many stories now. I talked to an official out at UCSB who said the university is relieved that this is happening because they've had several embarrassing incidents that have gone undetected and unreported in this journalistic vacuum. I'm talking about taxpayer money going down the drain. And Travis likens Wendy McCaw to Katherine Graham? Please. Nixon would have adored this News-Press.

Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there is this "growing constituency" that you cite which is only interested in the rantings of Dr. Laura, and yachting news, and gossip about the royal family, and who attended what party in Montecito, and the comings and goings of every freaking turtle and puppy dog in Santa Barbara AND Ventura Counties. I can't find anything else in the news pages..."

Are Wendy and Laura too privileged for a City Council meeting?

Who in Santa Barbara needs Schlessinger's child rearing, "family value" advice or opinion? Who would even believe that front, she's known more for her political chilling shillery. Torture, Jeezus war training, censorship et al. And now the Muslims- terrorist is verging on genocide, when you put it together with the rhetoric of "They want to kill us." and "get them all before they kill us all". And pride in an "apathetic" killer she still covers up for? egads! Look at Deryk's badge is that a Novice Parachutist? (Reminds us too much of the little used physiology degree) All else says what he actually does is infantry, like he shoots people. (People who keep secrets are not healthy)

Her sad pathology to manipulate a Dr. title into legitimacy of any sort is tragic enough. She should write about the brief time she used that physiology degree and end the massive amounts of unoriginal recycled pollution she litters about *. Her garbage alone is enough to prove her worst

The Santa Barbara News-Press continues to smear one person, yet attorney Cappello told Judge Brown that the local, state and federal criminal downloader of illegal images could be a current employee at the News-Press. Cappello said. “It could be a former employee, maybe a current employee.” The ever faithful editor and columnist for Ampersand ambitions are Travis Armstrong and Laura Schlessinger. Scott Steepleton is pretty much "the news" reporter. Coincidentally, Armstrong has not been officially heard from since the April 22 front page story about illegal child porn on a News-Press computer. Schlessinger claims she has great concern for children.. she's yet to touch even the protect the children part of their story. She also ignored the Foley page scandal and now the Attorney General Gonzales link to a cover up of abused minors in the Texas Youth Commission scandal. Armstrong and Schlessinger have consistently behaved in the past.. writing on unions, philantrophists, whatever Wendy would want defamed, in a timely manner! Why the change? When it's a Laura passion, like the Imus firing, she's on speed dial. Why all these suspicous behaviors?

What are people to think now?

The list of suspects must be larger then anyone can say. No matter what, it is wrong to single out one person. And it is tyrannical to propose Ampersand as a logical crime busting entity. What's wrong with allowing the FBI to complete their work? Why is the News-Press continuing to only name one suspect? How is it Schlessinger is bound to yet another internet image scandal?
